Mayfair is a COOPERATIVE school, which means not only do you participate in the operation of the school and setting its policies but also you or other parents are there on a daily basis to oversee the activities. This helps assure the best environment for your child and it gives you the opportunity for close contacts with other families and to make new life-long friends. Voluntary Registration with the State of NY - Not required by Law, we do it because it helps to assure a quality, age-appropriate, program for your young child. This registration process is not widely used in the Capital District and sets us apart from some other schools. Jennifer Bach is the current teacher at Mayfair Nursery School. She holds her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Art History and has taken many courses in early childhood education. She is currently pursuing her Masters at The College of Saint Rose for School Counseling. Not only is she CPR and First Aid certified she also continues her education with valuable workshops. She is a member of the NAEYC and has had numerous years experience working with young children. Before taking over Mayfair she provided in-home daycare to several children of all ages. In addition, she was a Teacher Assistant and Substitute for four years at Cloverpatch Daycare-The Center for the Disabled. Jennifer has also provided nanny services for many years prior. Jennifer has two children of her own; one who is currently a child at Mayfair and her daughter who attends Pashley elementary. Jennifer is married to her wonderful husband Dave who is an active participant at Mayfair and a Social Worker for Schenectady County. Jennifer was drawn to Mayfair because she fit like a puzzle piece to the philosophy of the school. She believes that every child is an individual and can benefit from a child-centered environment where socialization is imperative to developing the necessary skills in life. Jennifer has a passion for teaching and a spark that makes the children smile.
